Karthik holds a Bachelors degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) . Later, he worked for two years as a Developer and Program Analyst at Cognizant Technology Solutions at Bangalore,India. He received his Masters Degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Computer Engineering on his thesis titled "A Computational Framework to Model and Characterize a Molecular to Electrical Communication Interface based on Redox reactions". He went on to pursue his PhD in Engineering with dissertation titled "Fundamentals of Molecular-Electrical Communication Interfacing based on Redox Electrochemistry". His main research area is in the field of Internet of Bio-Nano Things, Molecular Communication and Synthetic Biology with a focus on Redox reactions as an interface between Molecular and Electrical domains under the guidance of Dr. Massimiliano Pierobon.
